“ This is the first Korean restaurant i enjoy in KL. So delicious and the boss is so handsome. ”
“ Came here for lunch and food's great here. Not entirely on the cheap side, but they offer a lot of different set meals and also lunch deals here, which I picked their kimchi jiggae to fix my soup cravings. K-pop's being played on loop in the restaurant, and on the wall they have a lot of posters as well as identical accessories worn by K-pop stars being displayed sold as well. The place is usually crowded with lunch and dinner crowd, and if you come during peak hours it would be most likely that you'd have to wait. Apart from their set meals, you could order their ala carte. And, if you are coming in group, their BBQ platters would be great pick to be shared. They do serve some kick-ass Korean BBQ here. Of course, if you'd like to have some drinks, they also serve the classic Korean soju here, and some specialty drinks as well. Fret' not for people who don't drink, they have a list of non-alcoholic specialty drinks too. Parking around this area might be tricky, but you could always park at the mall. This restaurant is just above Coffee Beans. ”
“ This is my favourite Korean restaurant. They are run by a Korean family. I think it offers a pretty decent menu. I really love its beef and kimchi dishes. The food is really good. I also like that they offer about 6 complementary side dishes which are usually very tasty. (Some other restaurants sometimes only offer 4 tiny plates) The staff are very friendly though some do not speak English. Deserts aren't spectacular but I would highly recommend this place if you want a good Korean meal. ”
“ I purchased their groupon deal and decided to come by to redeem it. Had a fabulous time overall here except that I feel like their service could be improved on. The food is great - excellent tasting Korean cuisine - and I ordered Bibimbap, a plate of hot squid and some topokki. Although the sauce provided for the Bibimbap wasn't enough but I got one more small serve of it when I asked for more. The service is quite bad. Wait staff are plenty but they don't seem to be doing their jobs well. For example, I asked for an extra cup of hot tea for one of my friends but they forgot about it and we had to remind them twice before they brought out COLD tea. So they only got our drink right the third time and after a good half hour. I don't know if this is a communication error (as the staff spoke little English) or if there is a lack of efficiency in their system. Also, we had to wait quite long for most of the food to come out (at least half an hour) and by the time it came our hunger already passed. I feel like the service could be improved on, otherwise the food is great and the ambience is relaxing and good too. They have 2 outlets - one in Sunway Gize and one in Mont Kiara and I've only been to the Mont Kiara one. Maybe the service at Sunway Giza is better? I would still recommend this restaurant, however, be prepared to wait quite a while before your food comes out. ”
“ Get seeped into the Korean boy band and girl band wonderland! Gangnam88 is a Korean food outlet which shows amazing TV shows in their restaurant and you will unknowingly get to know many new Korean stars when you dine there. Ambiance is great with young Korean and local chaps hanging out in groups for their dining and celebrations. Out of the 4 times I came here, 2 times there were people singing birthday songs and blowing candles. Adorable. I initially came to this place when it first started and sadly to say food quality has dropped a little, on their meal sets especially. They can be stingy in ingredients on different meals and that's not too impressive. I would come here more because of the ambiance and entertainment than just because of movies. One thing to point out is that, my friend once forgotten her laptop in the outlet and came back in 40 minutes to find it and the waitress safe kept it for her until she comes back. Such a sweet gesture of them, and very trustworthy as well. Because of that, I shall come back for more! ”
“ It was a quiet weekend and I wanted to do something different. After discussing with my fiance to where to go for dinner, we came to an agreement to find a restaurant at Solaris Mont Kiara. There were a lot of food to choose, majority are Korean restaurants. The one that stood out was Gangnam88. We walked up the stairs to the restaurant and was greeted by the owner. He showed us to our tables and one of the waiter came and pass us the menu. I had BBQ spicy pork which was really good. The food came rather quickly and it was good because I was hungry. The only thing disappointment was that they only allowed to refill the side dishes once. ”
“ Nope, this is not Oppa Gangnam style but it is called Gangnam 88. Omg how lame! Anyways, here's a little research I did, Gangnam is a district that makes up the city of Seoul and it literally means "South of the River". Till date, they are the third largest district and a place that a lot of parents choose for their children's education. How interesting is that! I am not a super big fan of Korean food but I got really bored of all the makan places that I have gone to, so I decided to drive to Mont Kiara and so I discovered this place. The restaurant is located right above Coffee Bean. As you enter, you will be greeted by a few Korean staff. You will surely catch the attention of posters of K-Pop idols on the walls and the LED TV playing K-Pop music video. Let me warn you, it gets very addictive watching these bunch of Koreans dance. I really love the ambience as it is mostly built up with wooden wall and looks towards the modern side of a typical Korean restaurant that you normally go to. The food that they serve is fusion. Sigh, off hand, I forgot the name of the dish that I ordered but it resembled of the Bibimbap. Anyway, just look at the photos. I really enjoyed my meal here as the experience was different and the food was delicious too! Don't be disappointed if your BBQ meat is not grilled at your table as they serve it to you. Anyway, it is ok lar right, you won't like that kind of smoky smell from the grilling. ”
“ Gangnam 88 is located at Solaris Dutamas, is at upstairs second floor at a building, this restaurant is not big but there is a lot of korean pop star poster and all korean music playing all day, the light is dimmed and overall the whole restaurant is intimate and private. Their food is usual korean food though, their BBQ pork is sweet and juicy, the pancakes was great, can tell they balance the flour and eggs to fry it, the price is quite pricey but then the food and environment does worth your money to be there and experience it. Will come back since this place is my sister favorite korean restaurant :p ”
